SUSTAINABILITY
RESPONSIBLE CHOICES.
MADE WITH INTEGRITY
Since our inception in 1989, Warisan has placed sustainability at the heart of everything we do. From the outset, we’ve worked with Indonesia’s natural resources in a way that respects both tradition and the environment. Today, every piece of furniture we create is made using responsibly sourced, SVLK-certified timber (Indonesia Legal Wood, VLHH 51 12 003), harvested from Perhutani, the country’s state-managed plantations.
Sustainability here isn’t a box to tick – it’s how we operate. From raw material to final product, every decision is guided by integrity, traceability, and long-term value.
Indonesian Teak
& Sustainable Timber Sourcing
At Warisan, we work exclusively with legally sourced timber from Perhutani—Indonesia’s government-managed plantations known for their sustainable forestry practices. Our wood carries SVLK (Sistem Verifikasi Legalitas Kayu) certification, ensuring full traceability from forest to factory.
Every log we purchase is documented, tracked, and audited annually by an independent body. This legal verification system protects both the forest and the future of Indonesian craftsmanship. By choosing plantation-grown teak and other sustainable hardwoods, we support a circular system that regenerates what it takes.

Efficient production with
circular principles
Owning our production facilities gives us full control over quality and environmental impact. At our factory in East Java, we implement circular practices wherever possible – including the reuse of wood waste to fuel our kilns.
Our team of over 400 craftsmen, designers, and project leaders work with precision and care, ensuring that every piece is made to last – reducing the need for replacement and minimising waste. While we continue to explore ways to optimise efficiency through technology, we remain committed to traditional techniques that honour the material and the maker.

OUR PEOPLE, OUR FOUNDATION
At Warisan, sustainability isn’t just about materials – it’s about people. We’re proud to provide stable, long-term employment to over 400 skilled craftspeople, designers, and project leaders across Bali and East Java. Many of our team members have grown with us for decades, and we’re committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment at every level.
We adhere to fair wage practices, avoid seasonal or contract-only labour, and prioritise training and upskilling to preserve the artisanal knowledge that defines our craft. Our operations follow all Indonesian labour regulations, and we believe in building a company culture rooted in mutual respect, creative collaboration, and pride in every piece produced.

Longevity & Aftercare
Great design deserves to last. Every piece crafted by Warisan is built for durability, engineered to perform in hospitality environments, and professionally treated to withstand a range of climates — including outdoors.
We use high-quality materials, finishes, and joinery methods to ensure our furniture stands the test of time, reducing the need for replacement and minimising waste. All standard Warisan products come with a 12-month warranty, and our team is available to advise on care and maintenance to keep each piece performing at its best for years to come.

Materials Beyond Wood
While responsibly sourced Indonesian teak is at the heart of what we do, Warisan also works with a wide range of natural and durable materials – including stone, marble, glass, metal, fibres, and fabrics – most of which are locally sourced within Indonesia.
Our selection process prioritises quality, ethical sourcing, and design performance. We work closely with trusted suppliers and fabricators to ensure every component meets our standards for longevity, aesthetic appeal, and environmental responsibility.
